As the lending arm of PHLF, Landmarks Community Capital Corporation (LCCC)—a non-profit subsidiary— advances the cause of preservation by extending loans to projects that facilitate renovation activities in historic neighborhoods throughout the Pittsburgh region.
Among the projects we financed in 2022, was a $1 million loan to Michelle and Tim Owczarzak to help them purchase an historic commercial building located at 235 Fort Pitt Boulevard in Downtown Pittsburgh. The couple plans to renovate the upper two floors of the building, which will be converted into their residence and the first floor will be converted into an office space for Dr. Owczarzak’s dental practice.
The couple also plans to restore the facade of the building, which is located in the Firstside Historic District and has donated to our organization a preservation easement to protect the building.
Certified by the United States Department of the Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), LCC makes sixty percent of its loans in low-to-moderate-income neighborhoods to either for-profit or non-profit developers.
